AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML): A web development technique used for creating interactive web applications. ASP (Active Server Pages): A dynamic programming framework for the Internet developed by Microsoft. CMS (Content Management System): A system used to manage the content of a Web site. The site content is generally stored in a database and the information is managed through a back-end control panel. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets): A stylesheet language used to describe the presentation of an HTML page. Flash: Adobe Flash, or simply Flash, refers to both the Adobe Flash Player, and to the Adobe Flash Professional multimedia authoring program. HTML (Hypertext Markup Language): The predominant markup language for the creation of web sites and page. JavaScript: A scripting language commonly used for client-side, web development. MS SQL: A relational database management system owned and developed by Microsoft. MySQL: A relational database management system owned and sponsored by a single for-profit firm, the Swedish company MySQL AB. PHP: A dynamic programming language primarily used for web application building. Web Services: A software system designed to support interoperable computer to computer interaction over a network, such as the Internet. XML (Extensible Markup Language): A general-purpose markup language. It is classified as an extensible language because it allows its users to define their own tags. Its primary purpose is to facilitate the sharing of data across different information systems, particularly via the Internet. |

| Broadband Usage |

According to a recent study by the Phoenix Center, the U.S. is ranked 15th in global broadband usage. Pew Internet & American Life Project claims that 47% of U.S. Adults have broadband access. The percentage of users and broadband (high speed access) users continues to increase at a rapid pace. Everything done on the Internet just 2 years ago, is now done at more than twice the speed; in many cases 4 times the speed! Speed and ease attract people (shoppers) pressed for time. |
